Las ficciones como artefactos en la obra de Jorge Luis Borges

Abstract

En esta intervención me propongo abordar la noción de ficción en la obra de Jorge Luis Borges desde la perspectiva de la teoría artefactual de Amie Thomasson, presentada principalmente en su libro Fiction and Metaphysics (1999). Los conceptos y supuestos metafísicos que conforman la perspectiva de Thomasson plantean una nueva teoría para la interpretación de textos literarios. A partir de esta perspectiva, intentaré mostrar que la lectura de ciertas secuencias de la obra de Borges da nuevos sentidos y permite postular que en ellas se encuentra prefigurada la noción de artefacto defendida por Thomasson. Me ocuparé especialmente de Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius pues postulamos que en esta fábula teórica2  Borges lleva al límite las posibilidades literarias y filosóficas de la noción de ficción.
